Anne Eller is an Associate Professor of Latin American and Caribbean history at Yale. She is the author of We Dream Together: Dominican
Independence, Haiti, and the Fight for Caribbean Freedom (Duke, 2016). Currently, her research engages with popular politics in the greater
Caribbean during the latter decades of the nineteenth century.
