Part of the “Treasures from Yale Film Archives” series, the silent film, “Within Our Gates” (1920) created by pioneering African American director Oscar Micheaux will be screened at the Whitney Humanities Center at Yale University on Friday, December 11, at 7pm.
Nicholas Forster (PhD candidate in African American Studies and Film & Media Studies) will introduce the film. Live musical accompaniment will be provided by Donald Sosin.
