In her CNN.com op-ed, Terri Francis commits herself to engage in the public discourse on gun violence and challenges the rest of us to do so as well (“Gun control: It’s on all of us,” Thursday, January 17, 2013).
“I have taken false and selfish comfort in believing that guns and the chaos connected to them were worlds away. Not wanting to wade into the debate around gun control, my position on guns has been one of naivety and willed ignorance.
But I won’t avoid it any longer.”
