Jeong Yeon Lee is a first generation Korean-American and a graduate of Johns Hopkins University, where he majored in English and Africana Studies. He continues to pursue both of these scholarly avenues at Yale as a joint PhD student in English and African American Studies. Jeong Yeon’s research examines rhetorical usages of violence in Black literature in an attempt to unpack and understand the interplay of politics, race, and Christian theology in American literature.
