Film screening and discussion of “Boycott,” to mark the 60th anniversary of the Montgomery bus boycott, a landmark event in Civil Rights activism spurred by Rosa Parks’ defiance of status quo segregated public transportation on December 1, 1955, and sustained for more than one year by the organizers and allies of the Montgomery Improvement Association and its charismatic, young leader, Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

Moderator Matt Jacobson is joined by panelists, actor and director Clark Johnson, film and cultural studies scholar, and Swarthmore College president, Valerie A. Smith, and Jonathan Holloway, Dean of Yale College and the Edmund S. Morgan Professor of African American Studies, History and American Studies.
