Elijah Anderson wins 2017 Prestigious ESS Award

Professor Elijah Anderson, African American Studies and Sociology, has won the Eastern Sociological Society’s Merit Award. The prestigious award for “distinguished scholars who have made outstanding contributions to the discipline, the profession, and the ESS,” per the Society’s website, places Anderson in the pantheon of Sociology’s most excellent practitioners. He joins Harrison White, Kai Erikson, Charles Tilly, Herbert Gans, Lewis Coser, Everett Hughs, and Talcott Parsons as a Merit Award Winner.
