Fadila Habchi named interim dean of Branford College

Yale College Dean Marvin Chun has named Fadila Habchi, (GRD ’18 ) to be interim dean of Branford College.

Habchi, a PhD candidate in American and African American Studies, will assume the role of Dean Sarah Insley who is on maternity leave.  

In his announcement, Dean Chun highlighted the great working relationship that Habchi is already admired for having fostered with Yale undergrads, indicating that as a signal of the contributions that she will bring to her work with undergraduates of the Branford College community. 

Habchi’s research focuses on narratives of migration and cultural representations of urban space after decolonization. She also teaches the cinematic and literary exploration of cities in French and English texts.
