Ashley James (English/AFAM) and Tina Post (AMST/AFAM) have been named Beinecke Graduate Student Research Fellows for 2014-2015. The honor allows them to pursue their research interests in the archives of the Yale Collection of American Literature.
As a research fellow, James will conduct research on her project, “Freely and Cleanly: Reforming ‘Black Art’ 1957-1974.” Post’s pre-prospectus fellowship will allow her to advance her exploration of the topic, “Black expressionlessness as an aesthetic, and as a performative gesture.”
