Cox named a 2018 Woodrow Wilson Foundation Fellow

The Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation has announced that Aimee M. Cox has been named a 2018 Nancy Weiss Malkiel Scholar.  
 
The Malkiel Scholar program supports junior faculty whose research focuses on contemporary American culture and who “represent the next generation of leaders and scholars in the humanities and social sciences who are poised—like the program’s namesake—to play a significant role in shaping American higher education.” 
 
Aimee Cox is an associate professor of Anthropology and African American Studies at Yale. Her first book, Shapeshifters: Black Girls and the Choreography of Citizenship (Duke 2015), won a 2016 Victor Turner Book Prize in Ethnographic Writing; she is editor of the recently released anthology, Gender: Space (MacMillan 2018).
