Megan Ming Francis is the G. Alan and Barbara Delsman Associate Professor of Political Science and an Associate Professor of Law, Societies, and Justice at the University of Washington. During the 2022-23 academic year, she is also a Senior Democracy Fellow at the Ash Center at Harvard Kennedy School. Francis specializes in the study of American politics, with broad interests in constitutional law, Black political activism, critical philanthropy, and the postcivilwar South. She is the author of the award-winning book, Civil Rights and
the Making of the Modern American State.
James Forman Jr. is J. Skelly Wright Professor of Law at Yale Law School. He teaches criminal law and Access to Law School, a pipeline program serving first-generation and underrepresented minority students from New Haven who wish to pursue a legal career. He is the faculty director of Yale’s Center for Law and Racial Justice.
