Christina Cano is a Ph.D. student in Sociology and African American Studies and a Graduate Fellow with the Center for the Study of Race, Indigeneity, and Transnational Migration at Yale University. Their research considers urban political geography, ruling class ideology, racial liberalism, and public-private productions of carceral infrastructures. Christina’s past work on race and space, municipal redistricting, and policing with the UChicago Justice Project has been published in Social Problems and the University of Chicago Law Review. Born and raised in Miami, they graduated with honors in Sociology and Creative Writing from the University of Chicago in 2019 and are a multimedia artist and writer.
