James Ramsey is a Ph.D. Student in Religious Studies and African American Studies. He is interested in the various relationships between belief, governance, and race–particularly as they attend to questions of legitimacy, authority, and violence in the ongoing structuring of the United States regime–as well as alternatives and/or resistances to these social arrangements, including those demonstrated in and/or supported by various Black musical traditions.
