B.A. in History and African American Studies from UCLA in 2019 and went on to pursue a Masters in US History from the University of Oxford in 2020

Kaelyn Grace Apple is a combined PhD student in the Department of History and African American Studies. Her research focuses on the origins and legacies of partus sequitur ventrem, inheritance, and property law in the early modern English Atlantic. Her proposed dissertation focuses on the social and legal status of mixed-race children born to African mothers and English fathers in 17th century England, Virginia, and Barbados. Kaelyn is deeply invested in ongoing studies of slavery, legal history, and gender along with providing access to higher education for likeminded students.

Kaelyn earned her B.A. in History and African American Studies from UCLA in 2019 and went on to pursue a Masters in US History from the University of Oxford in 2020. She is also the founder and CEO of Accepted Consulting and the creator behind “TheRedHeadAcademic” on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
