Minali is a third year PhD student in the Departments of Political Science and African American Studies and a graduate fellow at the Center for the study of Race, Indigeneity, and Transnational Migration (RITM). Her research is concerned with the ways that race shapes politics and politics shapes race. She is working on a few projects related to these questions, including a project to understand the racializing effects of the prison and another to understand and explain conservative politics among communities of color. Prior to starting graduate school, Minali worked as a data scientist for five years. She received her B.S. from Georgetown University in 2016.
