Shayne McGregor

Shayne is a third-year Ph.D. student in African American Studies and English. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Shayne studied English literature at Brooklyn College prior to joining Yale’s graduate program. Between the Harlem Renaissance of the early twentieth century and the development of what would be called hip-hop culture in the late twentieth century, Shayne is interested in New York City as a site of literary/cultural production and as a site in the literary imagination.
